Life can be a real Rat Race and we rarely take time to just live in the moment, so join us at Arabesque for physical enlightenment. Our Yoga class is all about getting in touch with yourself, your body and your breath.
Students will learn exercises to improve flexibility, balance and to improve breath capacity.
Classes will be led by Tina Farrell RYT.
Please bring a Yoga Mat and sleep mask or eye bag. (A limited number of loaner mats are available at the studio)
Our Yoga classes will have an emphasis on the physical postures (asanas), and sequences of asanas, designed to focus your mind on alignment of muscles and bones while coordinating movement of your body with your breath. Each class will begin with a quiet period for centering the mind and setting a focus for the class. A brief period of breathing exercises as well as warming and stretching the muscles and opening the joints will follow.
Students will receive individualized attention while learning and practicing traditional poses, the importance of linking the breath with movement, and the use of props to assist with alignment, balance and stability, enabling you to enjoy the full benefits of a pose with ease while your body gains in strength and flexibility. During class we will work on a balance between strength and flexibility, building endurance and self-awareness through precision in movement and attention to subtle aspects of posture and breath, releasing stress and tension throughout the body.
This class is appropriate for students of all levels and no prior experience is necessary. Our Studio store has Yoga mats, blocks and accessories for purchase. Some loaners available.
Ongoing classes can be attended as a drop-in ($10), or by using a Monthly Unlimited Yoga Pass ($80), or by using an Arabesque Class Card.
